BYU football player dismissed from team after being identified as suspect in lewdness case

Kason Krebs, a sophomore running back, was allegedly involved in three separate lewdness incidents in recent weeks near Smith’s in Provo, according to police spokesperson Jana-Lee Holland.
Holland said police received a tip naming Krebs as the suspect after sending out a public appeal Wednesday. Police made contact with him Thursday, resulting in two charges of lewdness being referred to the Provo City Attorney’s Office.
Krebs was not booked into jail because the incidents were Class B misdemeanors.
A BYU spokesperson confirmed Krebs was dismissed for a violation of team rules. Krebs’ profile was removed from the team roster Thursday.
The Sunset Beach, Hawaii, native had no recorded stats this season.
