Lehi officers and children participate in the "Kids, Cops, and Christmas," event Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, in Lehi.Christmas came early for several Lehi children this year — both in date and time of day.
Lehi police took to the streets before sunrise Saturday morning to escort kids to a breakfast, followed by a shopping spree and a gift-wrapping session.
It was all part of the 20th-annual “Kids, Cops, and Christmas” event, where the Lehi Police Department identifies families in need during the holidays and personally invites 25 children to pair up with an officer for the day, according to a news release.
The event was backed by $5,000 raised from a “Tip a Cop” fundraiser at Lehi’s Texas Roadhouse in November, where officers raised the money by serving customers.
The department also received support from Lehi’s Smith’s Marketplace, where children shopped for gifts.
“Every year we are able to help out more and more families due to the community involvement through donations,” Lehi police officer and program manager Nolan Jenkins said in a news release. “The amount we are able to raise goes up every year and the generosity of our Lehi community is amazing, from individuals to businesses donating.”
