“As I’m sure many of you are aware, we experienced a devastating fire at Ford’s early Tuesday morning,” the Ford family said in a social media post Sunday night. “The outpouring of love, prayers, messages, and support from this community has been overwhelming, and we are deeply grateful for it. Our hearts are heavy, but the kindness we’ve felt has meant more than we can put into words.”
The fire ignited at 11:47 p.m. on Dec. 15, resulting in a total loss to the locker and causing damage to two other businesses located in the same commercial building, which were separated by a brick fire wall, according to the Provo Fire Department. The fire’s cause remains under investigation.
Ford’s said all the wild game inside the business waiting to be processed was destroyed.
“We understand how personal and heartbreaking that is for so many families, and we share in that grief,” the company said.
While the investigation and insurance process takes place, ownership said there is “a great deal of uncertainty” and that they don’t have a timeline for what the next steps are.
Ford’s asked for patience and understanding as it continues forward.
“At this moment, we don’t have answers to many of the questions being asked, but we promise to share updates as soon as we are able,” the company said. “We are receiving a very high volume of phone calls, and we respectfully ask that you follow this page for updates, as this will be the primary place we communicate new information moving forward.”
