In an early Monday morning press release, the South Jordan Police Department said Petrov reportedly turned herself in to the Colorado Springs Police Department on Sunday evening.
Authorities said the South Jordan teen is in good health and safe with Colorado officials.
As of Monday morning, Petrov’s parents were planning to travel to Colorado Springs and reunite with their daughter.
The teen was reported missing April 21 by her parents after she was dropped off at her school in American Fork, but she reportedly did not go to class.
Petrov caught a ride to the Utah Transit Authority FrontRunner station in American Fork and then boarded a train to Provo, the last place she had been seen.
Since that time, three men have been arrested for allegedly having contact with Petrov prior to her disappearance.
Two of those men are from out of state, though neither of them are residents of Colorado.
At this point, it’s unclear how Petrov got to Colorado Springs, who she may have been with or why she ran away.
