On Saturday, Miss Timpanogos Jordyn Bristol, of Lehi, was crowned Miss Utah 2025.

The honor came after nearly a week filled with various competitions and events held at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Salt Lake City for the Miss Utah Scholarship Competition.

Bristol, 26, competed against 46 other community service-oriented women, with two of the top finalists also representing cities in Utah Valley.

But Bristol’s road to winning the title of Miss Utah has been one of grit, determination and resilience.

She’s competed in the Miss Utah competition and within the Miss Utah Organization for the past four years.

Prior to winning Miss Timpanogos in 2024, Bristol served as Miss Utah County, Miss Zion and Miss Greater Salt Lake.

In 2022, she was selected as the fourth runner-up in the Miss Utah competition, then first runner-up the following year. While that may have left others discouraged, she vowed to keep aiming toward her goal.

“A big motto of mine this year was to ‘do it scared,'” Bristol said. “I think that there’s so much power in growing through uncertainty and so much power in growing through trials. You know, I’ve competed for Miss Utah four times, and so I really think going into this year with the mantra of ‘do it scared’ has really helped me to find that grit and to find that determination.”

During the competition, Bristol won a $15,000 scholarship and will represent Utah at the Miss America Competition in September.

She also received a $250 scholarship for the overall evening gown award, $350 scholarship evening gown preliminary prize and a $250 scholarship for the interview award.

Though winning the title of Miss Utah was the culmination of her perseverance and persistence, Bristol is no stranger to adversity.

When she was 18, her dad passed away due to colon cancer, and that personal experience of losing a loved one shaped her commitment to helping others.

Bristol has been passionate about fighting food insecurity in Utah. She works with organizations such as The Policy Project and Utahns Against Hunger. Bristol has also donated dozens of volunteer hours with the Utah Food Bank as well as Community Action Services and Food Bank.

Earlier this year during the 2025 legislative session, she spoke before state lawmakers in urging them to pass Utah House Bill 100, Food Security Amendments, in efforts to combat child hunger.

As Miss Utah 2025, her community service initiative, titled “Food Insecurity: Outnumber Hunger,” will focus on combating hunger in Utah through education, service and advocacy.

Bristol said she’s grateful to have a platform that empowers her to shed light on an issue that to some may be hard to talk about.

“I’ve never experienced food insecurity, but having lost my dad, I know what it’s like to feel uncertain of the next step,” she told the Daily Herald. “And I know that it’s so crucial for Utahns to understand that any one of us could experience a death in our home, or a loss of a job or another traumatic experience, that any one of us could end up food insecure. And so it’s really important to support different initiatives and different organizations who are prioritizing the fight on hunger right now.”

In addition to her service initiative, Bristol is also pursuing her Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University. She previously earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations and strategic communications from Utah Valley University.

She is aiming for a career in sports marketing for the International Olympic Committee.

Bristol will represent Utah at the Miss America Competition in Orlando in September.
