Man killed in officer-involved shooting during search warrant service in Orem

An investigation is underway after a man was killed by an officer during the execution of a search warrant Monday night in Orem.
Police said that members of the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force were serving a search warrant around 11:30 p.m. at a residence in the area of 400 N. 800 East. At some point during the visit, shots were fired by the task force, Orem police said in a release Tuesday morning.
Life-saving measures were rendered as authorities requested emergency medical assistance, but the man was pronounced dead upon the arrival of Orem EMS, police said.
According to the Orem Police Department’s release, no officers were injured during the shooting.
The identity of the deceased person was not released, nor was information regarding what led to the shooting.
The Utah County Officer Involved Critical Incident team is handling the investigation.
