Provo Police reportedly seize seven pounds of Methamphetamine during traffic stop

A Provo police car is parked on Center Street on Saturday, June 25, 2022.Seven pounds of methamphetamine and a handgun were seized from suspected drug traffickers during an early morning traffic stop, Provo police announced Monday.
According to a news release, Patrol Officer Robinson stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation early Monday, and, suspecting suspicious behavior from the driver and passengers, obtained probable cause for a vehicle search.
She reportedly found several bags of methamphetamine with a street value of around $115,000 along with the gun.
Police suspect the drugs were being trafficked from California through Utah on their way to a another destination. The vehicle’s three occupants were arrested on suspicion of drug distribution and trafficking and booked into the Utah County Jail.
