An American Fork Police Department cruiser sits outside of a crime scene June 20, 2024.

After students evacuated American Fork High School on Friday afternoon in response to a potential bomb threat, police said there is “no indication of any threat” and nothing suspicious has been found.

According to the Alpine School District, a teacher found a note referencing a bomb and reported it to the American Fork Police Department. Police added that the note was found on a sticky note in a classroom but said they did not believe there to be credibility to the note.

Students were dismissed for the day while police conducted a thorough sweep of the building. Parents were also notified.

“Student safety is paramount, and we rely on excellent collaboration with law enforcement to keep our school safe,” the school district said. “We are grateful for the swift response by the American Fork Police Department and encourage anyone with information about this incident to contact them directly.”
