Man struck and killed by train in Springville

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on railroad tracks near U.S. 89 and 1250 South in Springville, police said. The area is next to the Spring Brook Dairy.
According to Officer Whitney Van Pelt, Springville police spokesperson, the train engineer blared his horn a few times, but the man did not get off the tracks.
The man, who was homeless, has not been identified yet, Van Pelt said. Police have not determined whether the incident was an accident.
As of Tuesday night, the area was an active crime scene as patrol units and detectives actively worked at the location, and police asked people to avoid the area if possible.
Springville police did not respond Wednesday to a request for an update.
