Man struck and killed by train in Springville

A Springville police vehicle is pictured.A man was struck and killed by a train around 5 p.m. in Springville, according to Springville police.
The incident occurred on railroad tracks near U.S. 89 and 1250 South in Springville, police said. The area is next to the Spring Brook Dairy.
According to Springville police spokesperson Officer Whitney Van Pelt, the train engineer blared his horn a few times but the man did not get off the tracks.
The man, who was homeless, has not been identified yet, Van Pelt said. Police have not determined whether the incident was an accident or a suicide.
As of Tuesday night, the area was an active crime scene as patrol units and detectives actively worked at the location.
Police asked people to avoid the area if possible.
