Man killed in overnight crash in American Fork Canyon

A car that crashed in American Fork Canyon is pictured Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.A 20-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in American Fork Canyon early Monday morning.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the vehicle was traveling west on State Road 92 at mile marker 9 at 2:30 a.m. when the driver left the roadway and struck the mountainside, sustaining fatal injuries.
The cause of the crash is unknown, though the Utah Highway Patrol suspected drowsiness was a contributing factor.
State Road 92 was closed in both directions until 6:30 a.m. during an investigation.
The identity of the man was not released by authorities.
