Two companies are joining forces to make the home design process a little less stressful for homebuyers and builders.

Walk Your Plans projects residential and commercial floor plans at full scale on a virtual canvas, allowing clients to walk through their future homes, business or retail space before any construction begins.

Trevor Pyne — franchise owner of Walk Your Plans Salt Lake City, which operates from a studio in Lehi — said the technology allows their clients to visualize and interact with their home plans.

You walk through glowing outlines of walls, stand at your future kitchen counter and pace the living room to feel its flow. It’s like exploring a blueprint you can touch — without goggles or guesswork,” he said. “Bring your family or designer; together, you test furniture layouts or imagine holiday gatherings, catching issues like a cramped hallway before they’re built.”

Any desired changes are noted on a Vibe “smartboard,” which allows for remote collaboration with architects and other vested parties connected to the design process.

Pyne said Walk Your Plans and Vibe formed a partnership earlier this year because their products compliment one another.

Vibe lets our clients mark up projections on a large touchscreen, email notes instantly and stay focused on experiencing the space,” he said. “It’s a seamless upgrade — upload plans, walk, annotate, done. This collaboration revolutionizes on-the-fly collaboration, turning ‘what if’ ideas into locked-in plans.”

Charles Yang, founder and CEO of Vibe, said the combined technology of the two companies helps bridge the gap between design and construction, allowing for real-time dialogue and remote problem-solving.

“The final result could be 100% aligned with what the homeowner is thinking,” he said.

The collaborative endeavor not only saves time, but Pyne said it could also possibly keep home and property buyers from spending thousands of dollars down the road on design changes after construction starts.

“It slashes change orders by up to 30%, saves months of tweaks and boosts client buy-in — turning potential headaches into high-fives,” he told the Daily Herald. “Builders tell us it’s like ‘stress therapy.’ Confident teams mean smoother sites, happier crews and projects on time, on budget.”

A one-hour session inside the Walk Your Plans studio to view a project in full scale costs $1,000.
