A 20-year-old Vineyard man was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday in Provo Canyon, the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed.

At 7:25 p.m., the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on state Route 189 at milepost 13 near Vivian Park when he lost control, crashed into the center median and was ejected from his bike, UHP spokesman Sgt. Luis Silva said.

The man died from his injuries at the scene.

Silva said speeding was a factor in the accident. The man’s identity was not released Wednesday night.

Provo Canyon temporarily closed in each direction but has since reopened.

Starting at $4.32/week.
