Utah County Republican Party 2026 Convention Results

Brent Bowles speaks at the Utah County Republican Party Convention on Saturday, April 16, 2026, at Skyridge High School in Lehi.Utah County Republican Party delegates nominated candidates for two county commission seats and other county positions at its Saturday convention at Skyridge High School in Lehi.
Brent Bowles is the party’s nominee for Commission Seat A, gathering 64.67% of the vote after three rounds of voting. Michelle Kaufusi placed second with 35.32% of the vote, but will advance to the primary via signature gathering.
For Commission Seat B, David Spencer had 52% of the vote and Carolina Herrin had 48% of the vote after three rounds of voting. Both received the party nomination and will advance to the primary. Isaac Paxman also advanced via the signature gathering process.
In the county clerk race, incumbent Aaron Davidson received 58.63% of the vote over challenger Corey Astill (41.36%), short of the 60% threshold needed to win the party convention nomination outright. Davidson and Astill, who also qualified via the signature gathering process, will be be party nominees at the convention to compete in the June primary.
Gina Tanner was the nominee for the county auditor position.
The party announced 1,322 delegates were on hand, for a 92% attendance rate.
