Historic depot: Lehi train museum to open Saturday as part of Heritage Days

A historic Lehi train museum will open to guests and visitors Saturday as part of Lehi Heritage Days from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Utah Southern Railroad Depot will be open for just the second time since it closed in 2020. In July, the museum had a soft opening that saw more than 250 volunteers taking in educational exhibits and interesting activities, according to museum representative Don West.
The museum was authentically restored to its 1872 form in 2000 and recently received a Historic Marker from Lehi. The depot served as a transportation hub in Lehi’s earliest days as goods and timber and ore were transported via railroad through the town, according to the Lehi Historical Society.
The building is the oldest still-standing railroad depot in Utah, the society said.
