The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released the location of the future Spanish Fork Utah Temple Monday.

The temple will be built on an 8.7-acre lot at the corner 100 S and 2550 East, which is across the street from Maple Mountain High School to the south.

The temple is planned to be multistory, approximately 80,000 square feet and include an accompanying ancillary building, the church said.

Plans for a Spanish Fork Temple were announced by then-Church President Russell M. Nelson in General Conference on April 6, 2025. It was the last temple Nelson announced before his death on Sept. 27, 2025.

A Spanish Fork spokesperson said in a statement to the Daily Herald that the city is aware of the announcement and that city officials look forward to the upcoming process.

“We know many in the community are enthusiastic about the announcement and see it as a positive addition to Spanish Fork,” the spokesperson said. “As with any significant development, the project will move through the city’s standard review and approval process. City staff looks forward to working collaboratively with representatives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to review the proposal, evaluate impacts, and ensure all applicable requirements are met.

“Spanish Fork City remains committed to thoughtful planning and transparent processes that support the long-term benefit of the community.”

There are 24 dedicated temples in Utah and eight additional that are either planned or under construction, including three in Utah County: the Provo Utah Rock Canyon temple, the Lehi Utah Temple and the Spanish Fork Utah Temple.

Starting at $4.32/week.
