Two of the three new school districts replacing the Alpine School District have identified its administrative leaders.

The Lake Mountain School District announced Monday the appointment of Vicki Carter as superintendent and Amanda Bollinger as deputy superintendent.

The Aspen Peaks School District held a board meeting Monday, where it swore in Joel K. Perkins as its new superintendent.

Both new superintendents are administrative leaders in the Alpine School District, with Carter serving as associate superintendent for elementary education and Perkins serving as associate superintendent for secondary education. Bollinger is an associate administrator at the Jordan School District and sits on the Utah State School Board.

Lake Mountain said in a social media post that it interviewed more than 20 applicants for the superintendent position, and that Carter, who has 35 years of education, was chosen alongside Bollinger.

“We are proud to launch our district with such a distinguished team,” board President Julie King said. “They are seamlessly aligned with our vision for innovation and student success.

Aspen Peaks Board President Diane Knight said in a statement that the board’s top priority has been finding the right leader to build the school district, and believes they found one in Perkins.

“It was clear to every board member that Dr. Perkins was uniquely qualified to take on the work ahead,” Knight said.

“This is my community,” Perkins said in a statement. “I have lived and worked here for the last 27 years. My family and i have invested our hearts and souls into the schools in this area. … It is the honor of a lifetime to partner with this community to build the new Aspen Peaks School District.

The Alpine School District will break off into three separate districts on July 1, 2027, after residents in the north and west Utah County voted for Proposition 11 and Proposition 14, respectively, to create new districts in 2024. A third district covering the county from Pleasant Grove to Orem was then created by default.

Starting at $4.32/week.
