Officials recovered the body of a man who drowned at Tibble Fork Reservoir Sunday evening.

A man in his 20s was swimming in the reservoir around 6 p.m. when he disappeared below the surface, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

First responders arrived and began searching the area for the man, using every available resource, the sheriff’s office said.

The man was found later Sunday night and his body was recovered from the reservoir. The sheriff’s office did not release his name.

The incident marks the latest fatal accident in Utah’s outdoors. In a separate incident Saturday, a man was struck by lightning while hiking near the summit of the east peak of American Fork Twin Peaks, according to Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue.

On Friday, Provo Fire and Rescue Captain Spencer Long, his wife, Katrina Long and three of their sons were killed in what authorities believe was a flash flood in Wayne County.
