The new 820 North bridge in Provo is completed. (Courtesy Provo City)The new 820 North bridge in Provo opened last week, marking the completion of an eight-month project to upgrade the infrastructure of the overpass.
The new bridge has new vehicle lanes with a center turn lane, bike lanes on each side of the road, paved pedestrian paths and concrete barriers separating the pedestrian path from traffic, according to the city.
The bridge has an estimated 75-year service life.
“Thank you to everyone for your patience during construction as we worked to deliver a safer, more connected corridor for the Provo community!” Provo City said in a social media post Monday.
The city said Provo River Trail underpass, which goes beneath the bridge, will remain closed until August.
