Provo City announced crews will start pavement resurfacing and restriping the Interstate 15 southbound onramp from University Avenue on Thursday. Traffic should expect lane shifts, delays and closures.

The southbound University Avenue will be reduced to one lane, and the northbound University Avenue to northbound I-15 left-turn lane will be closed for two months during construction, according to Provo.

The lane closures come as work continues to rebuild the University Bridge over 600 South and the railroad trucks. During construction, which began last fall and will end fall 2027, Universtiy Avenue is reduced to one lane in each direction from 920 South to 400 South.

UDOT is encouraging drivers to find alternative routes, and reports 10 minutes delays during peak travel times.
