Utah County residents listen to group discussions during the Utah County Democratic caucus at the Provo City Library on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

Neighbors will gather throughout the state at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the Utah Republican and Democratic caucuses to nominate delegates to represent them at their respective party conventions.

There are 2,500 neighborhood precincts across all 29 counties. Each precinct will elect voting precinct officers and their allotted number of delegates to the upcoming county and state conventions.

In Utah County, there will be several Republican caucus locations in each city. Republican Party members are asked to find their caucus location at PrecinctPortal.org. There will be eight Democratic voting locations in Utah County, each based on house district lines.

“Utah’s statewide neighborhood caucus system encourages like-minded community members to come together under shared values in their respective parties to elect delegates,” Utah County Republican Chair Cristy Henshaw told the Daily Herald. “This system is as local as it gets and magnifies voices that in other systems are overshadowed by money and influence. The caucus system is truly grassroots and The People’s system.”

The Utah County Republican Convention will be April 18 at Lone Peak High School, and the Utah Republican State Convention will be April 25 at the UCCU Center in Orem.

The Utah County Democratic Party will hold its caucuses based on house districts. Caucuses in House Districts 50-51 will be held at The Venue at the Ranches in Eagle Mountain. The House District 52 caucus will meet at Snow Springs Elementary in Lehi, and Democrats living in Districts 53 and 54 will meet at 32 E. Clubview Lane in Lehi.

Party members living in Districts 55-57 will go to the Lindon Community Center. Members in Districts 58 and 60 will meet at the Provo School District Professional Development Center, while those in District 61 will meet at 1934 N. 1640 West in Provo.

Democrats living in House Districts 62-63 will meet at the Springville Library, and those in House Districts 64-66 will meet at the Spanish Fork Library.

The Utah County Democratic Party Convention will be April 2 at Provo High School. The Utah Democratic Party State Convention will be April 25 at Jordan High School in Sandy.

Starting at $4.32/week.
