Man dies in base jumping accident in Rock Canyon, police say

A Provo police car is parked on Center Street on Saturday, June 25, 2022.A 33-year-old American Fork man was killed in a base jumping accident in Rock Canyon Saturday, according to authorities.
Wesson Huff, who was known as an experienced sky diver, appeared to have base jumped alone from the top of the canyon and is believed to have experienced a parachute malfunction, Provo police said in a social media release.
“Our sympathies are with his family and loved ones,” Provo police said.
The canyon temporarily closed Saturday while police investigated the incident.
