A GoFundMe was launched to support the family of Weston Huff, a 33-year-old American Fork man who authorities say died in a BASE jumping accident in Rock Canyon last Saturday.

Huff’s aunt, Lisa Scoffield, remembered him in the GoFundMe as “the sweetest, most gentle soul,” who died doing what he loved.

“Anyone reading this knows exactly what we mean, and his absence is already being felt far and wide,” Scoffield said.

She said Weston carried a special bond with his family, particularly his mother, Trina, as well as his father, Mick, and siblings, Kalli and Carson. He was always up for an adventure, whether it involved water, snow, sky, trees or fire, according to Scoffield.

“Naturally strong and talented, he could do anything, and do it well right out of the gate. Water, snow, sky, trees, fire … all were his comfort zone and joy,” she said.

Scoffield said Weston faced several physical and mental health challenges in his life but dealt with them with perseverance and gained empathy and understanding for others.

“He was sensitive, intuitive and genuinely cared about every person who crossed his path. When you met Weston, he loved you. Instantly. Unconditionally. And without judgment,” she said.

The GoFundMe is seeking $25,000 to support the Huff family.

“Please help us support this amazing family as they begin to navigate what comes next. A celebration of life is being organized, and plans will be shared soon,” Scoffield said.

Starting at $4.32/week.
