Controlled burn sends smoke billowing above Utah Valley

A controlled burn is pictured Wednesday, March 25, 2026, near Lakeshore.A controlled burn at an agricultural property near Lake Shore sent smoke billowing high in the air and across Utah Valley on Wednesday morning.
The smoke prompted numerous inquiries from individuals on social media questioning its origin. Sgt. Raymond Ormond of the Utah County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it was a controlled burn.
