Ormond said the child was riding an ATV with his stepfather around 11:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. He was wearing protective equipment during the crash.

Authorities arrived at the scene to attempt life-saving measures, and the child was flown to the Primary Children’s Hospital – Lehi where he died, according to Ormond.

“Our team is still investigating the incident,” Ormond said. “The preliminary information is leaning towards it being a very tragic accident.”
