The Utah Lake Authority is soliciting input from the public as it shapes the future of Utah Lake.
The ULA is undertaking a Utah Lake Tomorrow master planning process to identify improvements to 11 access points around the lake and is holding a series of public open houses beginning next week to gather feedback.
The first open house is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at 319 S. Saratoga Road in Saratoga Springs. The second will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 30 at Utah Lake State Park in Provo, and the third is 6-8 p.m. June 9 at the Spanish Fork Library.
There is also a survey people can fill out online and then enter a raffle to win a pair of paddleboards.
“Utah Lake belongs to all of us — help shape its future!” ULA said in a social media post.
“Whether you fish, paddleboard, birdwatch, boat, hike, or simply enjoy the beauty of Utah Lake, your input will help guide the future of these community spaces,” Provo City added in a post.
Earlier this year, the ULA received $2.5 million from a federal grant sponsored by Rep. Burgess Owens toward recreation access improvements at Utah Lake.
There are 35 access points around Utah Lake, and the ULA identified 11 it wants to improve: Inlet Park, Battle Creek, Utah Lake State Park, Mill-Race, Swede Lane, Sandy Beach, Lincoln Point, Tower View Point, Mosida Acres, The Knolls and Big Cove.
