Female suspect who allegedly threatened to shoot people near UVU detained by police

(Courtesy Utah Valley University)A female suspect threatened to shoot a small group of people near The Green Apartments in Orem before being apprehended by Utah Valley University police Wednesday afternoon, according to the university.
Orem police reported to UVU police that the threat occurred around 12:20 p.m., according to an emailed alert sent out to UVU students. The suspect was seen at 12:29 p.m. walking eastbound in a pedestrian tunnel between campus and The Green.
The suspect was described as a white female in her late teens or early 20s, wearing a white tank top, green jogger-style pants, a green baseball cap worn backwards and a black backpack, UVU said.
“Thank you to the Orem City Police Department for their assistance in this matter,” UVU said.
