Cornbelly’s two Utah County corn mazes opening this month will pay tribute to a late American hero.
Dolly Parton, the iconic country singer and Imagination Library founder who died on Aug. 25, is featured in the design of Cornbelly’s corn mazes in Spanish Fork and Lehi as well as several other The MAiZE Inc. mazes across the country.
The designs, planned prior to Parton’s death, were intended to celebrate American 250 and Parton’s legacy.
“We are beyond humbled to honor Dolly’s legacy, joining the world in mourning the passing of a true American treasure,” said Brett Herbst, Cornbelly’s owner and founder of The MAiZE Inc., in a news release. “Dolly’s impact on the world and her love for farming is immeasurable and our corn maze tributes now take on new meaning and significance, as we honor her and her beloved Imagination Library.”
The Spanish Fork maze, which opened last week, portrays Parton with the phrase “American 250” insribed above her head. The Lehi maze, opening Sept. 21, inscribes the phrase “An American Treasure” below a portrait of Parton.
While at the maze, visitors can play an interactive game that quizzes them on Dolly trivia, take photos with a life-size Parton photo op, and listen to Imagination Library storytelling sessions.
“I’m grateful for the support of my Imagination Library and am excited to invite people out to get lost in this year’s country music corn maze for a little fun, laughter and a real good reason to get lost,” Parton said prior to her passing.
The Spanish Fork Sunflower Fest and Pumpkin Farm is open Sept. 4 through Oct. 31 at 3687 W. 5600 South from 4-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and during fall break.
The maze in Lehi is open Sept. 21 to Oct. 31 at 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way from 4-10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and during fall break.
