Women in Leadership Executive Speaker Series upcoming events — The Utah Women & Leadership Project will present its Women in Leadership Executive Speaker Series through January. The events are free, but participants are asked to register in advance. From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 10, Susan R. Madsen will moderate a discussion on women leaders in higher education with Deneece Hufalin, president of Salt Lake Community College, and Mindy Benson, president of Southern Utah University. AMERICAN FORK

“Disney’s High School Musical Jr.” — Join Timpanogos Youth Theater for a spirited and engaging performance of “Disney’s High School Musical Jr.” at 7 p.m. on Jan. 19, 20 and 22 and at 2 p.m. on Jan. 20 at the Valentine Theater. Early bird tickets are available at $6 through Jan. 15. After Jan. 16, tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 3-11. Children 2 and under are free. Events at the American Fork Library — Here are some upcoming events at the American Fork Library: Dec. 27-Jan. 5: Winter Break Drop-In. Activities for children and teens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Children’s Activity Room and Teen Zone. Jan. 1: Library closed. Jan. 2: Beginning ASL Class for ages 5 to adults at 10 a.m. Presented by Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. Jan. 2: Adult Craft Class at 1 p.m. The free activity will be making a custom calendar. Jan. 8: Writer’s Club for teens at 3 p.m. Teen writers of all genres welcome. Monthly challenges given. Jan. 9: Beginner Yoga for adults at 7:30 p.m. Please bring your own mat.  Jan. 10: Art After School for teens at 4:30 p.m. A place for teens to work on their art projects or create new ones. This month’s participants can learn how to do watercolor resistance. Jan. 15: Library closed. Jan. 16: Beginning ASL Class for ages 5 to adults at 10 a.m. Presented by Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. Jan. 17: Reader’s Cafe  for teens at 5:30 p.m. Sample a menu of books and find your next favorite read. Treats will be served. Jan. 18: Tween Club at 4 p.m. Join the library for Chocolate Olympics with some fun with chocolate and Minute to Win It games. Register online. Basic drawing techniques class — Children ages 8 to 18 can learn about basic drawing techniques with Jeff Bushman from 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursdays at the TAF Creative Arts Center, 53 W. Main St. Students may start at anytime. The cost is either $10 per class per student or $40 per month, including supplies. CEDAR HILLS

Christmas tree recycling — Live Christmas trees may be recycled for free between Dec. 26 and Jan. 5  at the Mesquite Soccer Park parking lot and the Harvey Park parking lot. Frocked trees aren’t recyclable and will not be accepted. No other waste, garbage or commercial dumping is permitted.

Teal Rose dancers — Beginning and intermediate dance classes will be offered at the Cedar Hills Community Center. Beginning dance for 3 to 6 year olds focusing on the basics of ballet and tumbling with games and fun will begin on Thursday, Jan. 11. Beginning/intermediate dance for 6 to 12 years olds is a faster-paced class featuring learning basics and modern dance with some tumbling begins on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Karate classes — This program for anyone ages 6 and up combines essential basics of karate — traditional drills, basic tumbling and basic self-defense. Classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from Jan. 8 to March 20 at the Cedar Hills Golf Clubhouse. Vinyasa Yoga (mixed level) — Join Kristen Rutter at 8:15 a.m. every Wednesday at the Cedar Hills Recreation Center for a dynamic practice that unites body, mind and breath. Bring your own mat, strap and block (a limited number is available to borrow).

HIGH Fitness classes — This weekly class takes aerobics to the next level by combining modern fitness techniques, such as HIIT, plyometics, and intervals of strength and cardio with music. Classes are currently at 7 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Cedar Hills Recreation Center. The drop-in rate is $3.50 and punch cards can be purchased at a discount. LINDON

Senior bus — The Lindon Senior Center has a bus and is able to offer rides to and from the center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This is available for Lindon resident seniors. Pick-ups are between 10 and 11 a.m. Drop-offs are between 1 and 2 p.m. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance. Contact the Senior Center front desk at (801) 769-8625.

PAYSON

Volunteer at the library — Friends of the Payson Library notes that residents can volunteer for an hour or less each month to help the library meet the needs of children and patrons. Volunteers are asked to offer ideas and support the group’s yearly book sale. SARATOGA SPRINGS

Community Orchestra — The Saratoga Springs Community Orchestra holds practices on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the city offices, 1307 N. Commerce Drive. The orchestra will be preparing for Saratoga Splash Days and the December holiday concerts.

UTAH COUNTY

Mental health support groups and classes — NAMI Utah County offers free in-person and online support groups and classes for adults and teens living with mental health conditions and for family members of loved ones living with mental health conditions. Volunteers to help Kids On The Move — Each Friday and Saturday, Kids On The Move offers Respite Care, providing a free break to parents with special needs children. Families drop their children off at locations in Orem, Lehi and Springville where they are paired one-on-one with a volunteer to play for the evening. A nurse or behavior technician is also present to help oversee. The group is seeking 10 volunteers 16 years and older from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday to help make this happen. Foster grandparents sought — Utah County is seeking senior volunteers to serve as foster grandparents. Volunteers must be limited-income individuals at least 55 years old and able to serve 15 or more hours per week. Volunteers serve as mentors, tutors and caregivers for children and youth at schools, hospitals, youth centers and similar organizations. Volunteers receive a non-taxable stipend, paid personal leave, transportation reimbursement, ongoing training and more. Utah County Home Visit Programs in need of donations — Utah County Health Department home visit programs are running low on donated resources such as baby blankets and diapers. The health department is asking Utah County community members to consider donating items or organizing service projects to assist in providing donations. The items most needed are new receiving blankets or small quilts and diapers. Other welcomed items include: infant “onesies,” knit hats and infant-appropriate board books. Items should be in new condition. Donations may be dropped off Monday to Friday (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at the following health department locations: Provo — 151 S. University Ave., Suite 1610, American Fork — 599 S. 500 East. Questions about the home visit programs should be directed to Bonnie Hardy at (801) 851-7026.
