Once a steel town, Vineyard has rapidly transformed into one of the fastest-growing economic centers in the nation. With major developments underway — including the highly anticipated Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) expansion and the sustainable growth of Utah City — Vineyard is positioning itself as a hub for innovation, economic opportunity, beautiful recreation and open space.

Huntsman Cancer Institute expands to Vineyard

One of the most significant milestones in Vineyard’s economic evolution is the groundbreaking of the Huntsman Cancer Institute’s new facility. This expansion will bring world-class cancer research and treatment to Utah County, improving access to top-tier medical care for residents while driving economic growth.

This isn’t just a medical facility — it’s a game-changer for our community. Huntsman’s presence will create high-paying jobs, attract top biomedical companies and medical professionals, and contribute to life-saving research, all while strengthening Vineyard’s position as a center for innovation.

The institute’s expansion aligns with Vineyard’s vision of attracting industries that bring long-term value to the community. Beyond healthcare, the project is expected to stimulate local businesses, increase job opportunities and encourage further investment in the area. An economic projection anticipates more than 11,000 jobs created, $1.25 billion annual gross state product and $25.6 million average annual net state tax revenues.

Utah City: A model for sustainable urban growth

As Vineyard grows, we are prioritizing quality of life and wise development — and Utah City, Vineyard’s new downtown, is leading the way. The mixed-use district is designed to integrate commercial and residential spaces while preserving open space and prioritizing multi-modal transportation and connectivity.

The downtown has already broken ground on a new grocery store and has more excitement planned for the spring, summer and fall! The city’s master plan emphasizes tree-lined streets, parks and natural gathering spaces to promote outdoor activity and connect residents to recreation throughout the community. This April, Vineyard will welcome Arbor Day by planting more than 1,000 trees in Utah City as we get ready to unveil the downtown’s Green Line.

We’re building a city that blends urban convenience with wide open spaces to ensure Vineyard residents can enjoy a vibrant, active and livable community for generations to come.

A city on the rise

With the combination of economic and infrastructure investment, strategic growth and environmental stewardship, Vineyard is shaping its rapid growth in a long-lasting, innovative and reasonable way for the benefit of residents today and for future generations.

With projects like Huntsman Cancer Institute and Utah City, Vineyard’s boom shows no signs of slowing down. As the city continues to develop, leaders remain committed to balancing economic progress with a high quality of life for residents.
