A Utah County family that immigrated from the Philippines is facing a difficult time because their father, Michael, lost his job in August and has yet to find new employment.
The family of three children is looking for help to provide their kids gifts for Christmas.
“Any Christmas gifts for our kids would bring light and joy into our home during this challenging season,” Michael said. “Even small presents would remind them that they are loved and that there is still hope, despite our situation.”
Through United Way’s Sub for Santa program, Kristina, Kimberlee and Scott can still receive presents.
Kristina, 13, would like perfume, makeup and jewelry, while Kimberlee, 11, is asking for art supplies and jewelry. On the wish list for Scott, 2, is a spin and learn tower and a scooter.
Kristina needs sweatpants, a hoodie and pajamas, Kimberlee needs a hoodie, sweatpants and a sweatshirt, and Scott needs a hoodie, sweatshirt and coat.
“As parents, seeing our children smile again would give us comfort and strength,” Michael said. “We would be deeply grateful for any help this Christmas.”
