Christmas is joyful and exciting for most, but for families experiencing financial distress, it can be a stressful and unhappy time. This is what Mila and her family are going through. They have been experiencing homelessness and currently do not have a home of their own. During these winter months, they will be staying in a trailer.
Despite these challenges, Mila is hoping for a merry Christmas for her five-year-old son, Thomas, although they cannot afford to buy him Christmas gifts. “Receiving assistance will teach us the joy of giving and caring,” Mila said. “It will relieve some of the stress of living in a trailer during winter. It will be one less worry, and we would really appreciate it.
Mila’s son, Thomas, could really use long-sleeve shirts, sweatpants and pajamas. He also needs some new snow boots.
Thomas’ favorite colors are pink, blue and green. He loves Dr. Seuss and Berenstain Bears books. Other gifts that Thomas would enjoy receiving include monster trucks and toy cars.
