At the Food and Care Coalition, we deeply appreciate the outpouring of support that helps us accomplish our mission.
Unfortunately, the needs of individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness persist year-round. By July, the wonderful holiday donations we received have been depleted. That’s why we’re asking you to bring the spirit of giving into July.
Here’s how your donations make a tangible difference:
- Nourishment: Equipment, maintenance, staffing and food required to serve more than 100,000 meals annually, ensuring no one goes hungry.
- Safe housing: Operating costs of utilities, maintenance and repair of our residential areas, which provide 38,623 bed nights.
- Basic necessities: Maintaining our laundry facilities and providing detergent to do more than 13,000 loads per year as well as the resources to provide almost 33,000 showers annually, offering essential hygiene and dignity.
- Direct support: Enabling us to distribute more than $1.5 million in value of donated hygiene items, sleeping bags, blankets, socks, gloves, coats, etc. to those in need in our community.
Our most urgent needs include:
- Monetary donations
- Laundry detergent
- Sleeping bags and non-fleece blankets
- Heavy-duty 33-gallon trash bags
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Nitrile gloves
- Razors
- Deodorant
- Toilet paper
- Napkins
You can make a difference. Consider organizing a donation drive in your neighborhood, workplace or faith group. Ask friends and family to join in! Visit foodandcare.org to learn more.
