Annual Memorial Day Breakfast — The American Fork Fire and Rescue Association will host its annual Memorial Day Breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. on Monday, May 26, at Fire Station No. 51 at 96 N. Center St.
Events at the American Fork Library — Here are some upcoming events at the American Fork Library: May 19: Teen Writer’s Club at 3 p.m. Teen writers of all genres welcome. Monthly challenges given. May 22: Adult Writer’s Club-Advanced at 7 p.m. Refine your creative writing, receive help editing with peer review and connect with other writers. May 26: Library closed for Memorial Day. CEDAR HILLS
Family Festival registration — Sign-up information is available for Family Festival 2025, set for May 31 to June 7. Registration is open for participating in the parade, the Pickleball Tournament, being a vendor, volunteering and more. Spring Clean-Up — Cedar Hills will sponsor its 27th Annual Spring Clean-Up from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, and Saturday, May 17. Large roll-off dumpsters will be available at 10900 N. Canyon Road. Several types of items will not be allowed, including car tires, car batteries, paint and more. Summer Sports Camp — This camp for ages 5 to 12 helps set the tone for a lifetime of athletic enjoyment as each day focuses on a different sport, including soccer, basketball, flag football and field games. Cedar Hills Slugger Tournament — This four-person, 18-hole scramble is set for Thursday, June 5, at Cedar Hills Golf Club. The cost is $560 per team and includes food, Nike product credit and a closest to hole contest on all par 3s. To register, call 801-796-1705.
Karate — Cedar Hills Community Services offers a fun, multi-level karate training experience for all ages 6 and up, including adults. HIGH Fitness — Cedar Hills Recreation offers twice-weekly classes taking old-school aerobics to the next level by combining simple, modern fitness techniques with popular music. No equipment is needed — just fitness shoes and a water bottle. All levels of fitness are welcome at 6 a.m. Tuesdays and 7 a.m. Saturdays.
LINDON
Senior bus — The Lindon Senior Center has a bus and is able to offer rides to and from the center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This is available for Lindon resident seniors. Pick-ups are between 10 and 11 a.m. Drop-offs are between 1 and 2 p.m. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance. Contact the Senior Center front desk at (801) 769-8625.
MIDWAY
Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championship and Festival — The 21st annual Soldier Hollow Classic returns to the Soldier Hollow Olympic venue on Memorial Day weekend, May 23-26. The highlight of the event are daily sheepdog trials starting at 8 a.m. daily as skilled dogs herd over 300 Rambouillet ewes on the Olympic hillside. Other activities include educational demos, dog agility shows, police K-9 demonstrations, spinners and weavers exhibits, wild birds and raptor shows, sheep shearing, duck herding, kids’ activities, live bagpipes, food and merchandise vendors, and a beer garden. Freedom’s Melody: A Celebration of American Composers — Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and join the American Fork Symphony for its annual free outdoor concert at The Orchard at University Place at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 9. This family-friendly evening features iconic works by American composers including John Williams, John Philip Sousa, Irving Berlin and more.
PAYSON
Volunteer at the library — Friends of the Payson Library notes that residents can volunteer for an hour or less each month to help the library meet the needs of children and patrons. Volunteers are asked to offer ideas and support the group’s yearly book sale. Events at the Provo City Library — Here are some upcoming events at the Provo City Library: May 17: The Writer’s Guild at 3 p.m. Teen writers are encouraged to bring their pieces to get peer feedback and provide feedback to others. May 19: Grassroots Shakespeare: Midsummer from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Join the library for an engaging performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Bring blankets to sit on. May 20: Ballroom Book Sale from noon to 8 p.m. Most materials are $2 or less. May 21: Ballroom Book Sale (Super Sale) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come to a special sale with deep discounts.
SARATOGA SPRINGS
Community Orchestra — The Saratoga Springs Community Orchestra holds practices on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the city offices, 1307 N. Commerce Drive. The orchestra will be preparing for Saratoga Splash Days and the December holiday concerts.
UTAH COUNTY
Mental health support groups and classes — NAMI Utah County offers free in-person and online support groups and classes for adults and teens living with mental health conditions and for family members of loved ones living with mental health conditions. Volunteers to help Kids On The Move — Each Friday and Saturday, Kids On The Move offers Respite Care, providing a free break to parents with special needs children. Families drop their children off at locations in Orem, Lehi and Springville where they are paired one-on-one with a volunteer to play for the evening. A nurse or behavior technician is also present to help oversee. The group is seeking 10 volunteers 16 years and older from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday to help make this happen. Foster grandparents sought — Utah County is seeking senior volunteers to serve as foster grandparents. Volunteers must be limited-income individuals at least 55 years old and able to serve 15 or more hours per week. Volunteers serve as mentors, tutors and caregivers for children and youth at schools, hospitals, youth centers and similar organizations. Volunteers receive a non-taxable stipend, paid personal leave, transportation reimbursement, ongoing training and more. Utah County Home Visit Programs in need of donations — Utah County Health Department home visit programs are running low on donated resources such as baby blankets and diapers. The health department is asking Utah County community members to consider donating items or organizing service projects to assist in providing donations. The items most needed are new receiving blankets or small quilts and diapers. Other welcomed items include: infant “onesies,” knit hats and infant-appropriate board books. Items should be in new condition. Donations may be dropped off Monday to Friday (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at the following health department locations: Provo — 151 S.
