Life has been hard on many people during the past few years, with medical and financial burdens that have been placed on them. Betty understands those medical hardships perfectly.

During the past year, Betty has had to have major surgery without the help of having insurance. That and not being able to work has caused a great financial burden on her and her two young daughters.

“To keep working hard is a challenge,” Betty said. “My challenge is to take care of my family and to help my kids feel loved.”

Having a volunteer Santa’s helper this year would assist Betty tremendously. She said it would take away a lot of her stress and make for a better holiday season.

Both of Betty’s children still have a strong belief in Santa and the Christmas spirit, and she believes the community here is a special place and that her family have been blessed by living here.

Betty’s two daughters are 10 and 8 ½ years old. They both need winter boots, warm coats, jeans or warm pants.

The 10-year-old wears a pant size 14, shirt size 12 and shoe size 4.5. Her favorite colors are blue, purple and black. She would like comic books and age-appropriate chapter books. She would also like jewelry and makeup.

The younger girl, besides winter wear, needs Sunday church shoes. She wears a pant size 12, shirt size 10 and shoe size 3.5. Her favorite colors are yellow, blue and gold. She would like music, age-appropriate chapter books, comics and picture books. She would also like jewelry and Poopsie toys.
