Family-friendly New Year’s activities in Utah County

Whether you like to ring in the new year at midnight or wrap up the celebrations early, there are plenty of activities all over Utah County to keep families entertained from New Year’s Eve straight through 2022.
There will be a New Year’s-themed photo opportunity at University Place at the customer service desk from Monday until Jan. 8. Shoppers are encouraged to stop by and take a photo surrounded by balloons to ring in 2022, then post those photos online to be entered in a drawing. More information can be found at their website.
Saratoga Springs will be hosting a “Noon Year’s Eve” party at the city offices on Dec. 31 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., for those who aren’t interested in staying up until midnight. There will be stories, snacks and activities. This mid-day celebration is for Saratoga Springs Public Library cardholders only and registration is required to attend. For teens aged 13-18, the Payson City Library is hosting its “Teen Night: New Year’s Eve Party” on Dec. 31 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. There will be movies, glow-in-the-dark games, popcorn, drinks and prizes available. Registration is not required to attend this event, but it is preferred. More information on this event can be found at paysonlibrary.org.
The Provo Countdown 2022 New Year’s Eve Party, sponsored by nationally acclaimed Provo Parks and Recreation, will take place at the Provo Recreation Center on Dec. 31 from 7-11:59 p.m. This family-friendly event will have a jungle party animal theme and will feature laser tag, inflatables, karaoke, dancing, fireworks and more. Tickets will be $10 per person and $5 for Provo Recreation Center members.
Regardless of how people spend the overnight jump into 2022, they are encouraged to shock themselves into the new year together. The seventh-annual Pond Town Polar Plunge will take place at 151 W 300 S in Salem at 11 a.m. on Jan. 1. Attendees of all ages are invited to jump into the freezing Salem pond as a group to kick off the new year.
