“The city, I think that they need to pay more attention to the — well, the state does too — education for our kids. We have so many kids in Title 1 schools that it is just overloading the teachers amazingly awful. And for the county, the roads, please. You can add that with the city, too. In weather like this, they need a place to stay, and I don’t think that we have enough shelters for the homeless people. I think we need to have more places where they — especially families.” — Maggie Olson, Pleasant Grove.
“The first response that comes to mind is better roads. Roads always seem to be bad everywhere you go. … Especially Pleasant Grove, right here. They’re terribly maintained. They need to use their tax dollars better. I would love to see, like, a water park, a water feature. Not necessarily a different pool, but like a splash pad — a local one. I mean, we have to go to Highland or Cedar Hills for a local splash pad, but that would be great for kids. I would love that close by. ” — Kristin Anderson, Lindon.
“I’m kind of okay with everything that’s going on, if that makes sense. … Roads are always going to be a thing. I wish that they would just try to look more in the future about what is needed here, and plan for it ahead of time instead of waiting until it’s a crisis. Sometimes with the water, sometimes it’s with the school systems, just in general, I was really quite — of course, because I’m a school teacher — I was really sad to hear that they decided to vote against the bond because one of the things that I’m really proud about, where I work at, is that they plan ahead, and they try to buy the land before it goes up. It’s hard now that it didn’t pass.” — Lynette Brown, Pleasant Grove
“More family recreation. Like, a rec center in PG would be awesome. Because the youth is outgrowing the established people here. I don’t know, there’s just not enough. There needs to be more stuff for me to take my little kid to do. I was going to say an indoor pool. They opened up to Utah County — because there’s a bunch of them — but there’s none here.” — Dusty Barney, Pleasant Grove
“Police security. Yeah, we need more police patrolling the neighborhood, and keeping an eye on everybody’s house. There has been a lot of thieves running around, stealing packages from the doors now that it’s Christmas — I would say in the state, n the whole state. I would like to see a change in people.” — Martin Bautista, Lehi
