Nevada native Justin Harrison has be selected to lead the council’s day-to-day operations. He was approved unanimously by the council.

Harrison has been a public policy professional and lobbyist for more than 10 years. Previously, he was a principal management analyst in Clark County, Nevada, where he directed policy initiatives and projects for the Clark County Commission and county manager.

Prior to joining the county, Harrison served as director of government affairs for the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce, the largest business organization in Nevada, where he led lobbying efforts on behalf of business interests at the local level.

Harrison has also worked at the federal level as a staff assistant for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, according to his LinkedIn page.

Harrison holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, has served on local boards and volunteers with nonprofit organizations including the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Alumni Association Board of Directors and Liberal Arts Alumni Board, the Clark County Water Reclamation District Wastewater Rates and Charges Citizens Committee.

He has also served on the Southern Nevada Water Authority Advisory Committee for Groundwater Management, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada Regional Project Coordination Committee, Southern Nevada Health District Community Health Improvement Plan Committee, College of Southern Nevada Institutional Advisory Committee, Boy Scouts of America and the Red Cross.

He and his wife, Melissa, have four sons, Landon, Porter, Griffin and Briggs.
