Thanksgiving Point will be hosting appreciation weeks for local organizations throughout the month of August.

“With August Appreciation Weeks, Thanksgiving Point will give thanks to those who are integral to our community’s success,” stated a news release from Thanksgiving Point. “On designated weeks, neighboring school districts, Lehi residents, and those who serve our country will be able to visit our venues at a discounted rate.”

Aug. 1-6 will be neighboring school districts’ appreciation week, when all faculty and staff from Alpine and Jordan school districts and their immediate families will be eligible to receive discounted admission to all Thanksgiving Point venues. Faculty and staff must bring proof of identification in the form of an email invitation from their school district and a current school ID badge in order to receive a discount.

Aug. 8-13 is Lehi City appreciation week, with all residents of Lehi City and their immediate families eligible for reduced-price admission. Residents must bring proof of residency in the form of a Utah driver’s license or utility bill with a current Lehi address.

Aug. 15-20 will be military appreciation, during which all active military veterans and their immediate families will be eligible for discounted admission. Military personnel must present a military or veteran ID card at the time of ticket purchase.

Tickets for Thanksgiving Point’s Butterfly Biosphere, Museum of Ancient Life, Museum of Natural Curiosity and Dinosaur Island at Ashton Gardens typically range from $17 to $24 per person but will be discounted to $10 per person for August Appreciation Weeks. Tickets to Farm Country will be $5, a 50% discount. Tickets must be purchased in person to receive discounts.

With the presentation of a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program electronic benefits transfer card, adults receiving WIC and SNAP benefits can purchase tickets for $3 per person per venue.

Children of families receiving WIC or SNAP benefits can get free admission to Thanksgiving Point throughout the year as part of the Museums for All program, which is a signature access program of the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Association of Children’s Museums designed to encourage people to visit museums regularly.

“Thanksgiving Point has been a nonprofit in Lehi for over twenty years, and during this time, it has developed many programs to help curious kids grow,” stated the news release. “The Museums for All program welcomes kids with families on SNAP or WIC benefits to visit for free.”
