Sub for Santa, a program run by the United Way of Utah County, helps local families in need during the holidays.

Jessica and her husband, Walter, have worked hard in starting their own business, and both are going to school this year. They want to secure the future for their family.

It would mean so much to have a volunteer family sponsor her children this year.

“My kids will be so excited and happy to have these gifts,” Jessica said. “We are working for ourselves right now and thanks to God we can pay our rent, food and gas but we can’t afford gifts for the kids this year.”

Jessica said they feel guilty like they can’t do simple things like take their kids to McDonalds and they want to be able to do more. They would not be in the program if they did not need it and she wants to pay it forward in the future for others.

“I appreciate that families help families in the community,” Jessica said.

Jessica has three children: two girls and a boy. All of the children need winter clothes, coats, boots and hoodies.

Her oldest daughter is 9 and wears size 9 pants and shirts and size 2 shoes. Her favorite color is red. As for books, she would like “The 7 Habits of Happy Kids,” “Cat Kid Comic Club” and “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” For toys, she would like Baby Alive Baby Go Bye Bye and doll clothes.

The middle child is a girl. She is 5 years old she wears size 6 pants and shirts and kids size 13 shoes. Her favorite color is pink. She would like fairy-tale books and, for toys, a Baby Alive and a kitchen set.

The youngest child is a boy who is 2 years old. His pants and shirt size is 3 and he wears kids size 8 shoes. His favorite color is green. He would like coloring books, learning books and animal books. For toys, he would like Baby Shark things.
