Residents in Utah County now have a second choice to fly to Las Vegas.

As of Thursday, flights began departing locally for Sin City via Breeze Airways.

Breeze, known for calling itself the “Seriously Nice” low-fare airline, was founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman. The airline’s headquarters is in Cottonwood Heights, with the new Provo Airport as its home base in Utah.

This newest nonstop destination marks Breeze’s third route from Provo, following nonstop flights to San Francisco and one-stop/no change of plane “BreezeThru” flights to San Bernardino, California.

“Each new flight proves the Provo Airport is fast becoming the choice for vacationers who appreciate affordable, convenient travel without the hassle of layovers and connections,” said Provo Mayor Michelle Kaufusi.

“It used to be that you’d drive to Las Vegas to save money,” said Tom Doxey, Breeze president. “But with Breeze’s low $29 fares, it’s actually cheaper now to fly! And with quick parking, fast security lines, and a short walk to the gate, Provo Airport only adds to the convenience and ease that Breeze brings with this new route. If you’re trying to get down to Las Vegas to catch a BYU Athletics game, for instance the BYU and Notre Dame football game, we’ve got you covered.”

Flights are now on sale at www.flybreeze.com and via the Breeze app.

Breeze Airways began service in May 2021 from 16 destinations primarily in the east and southeast United States. One year later, it was ranked as the No. 2 U.S. best domestic airline of 2021 by Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards. In 2022, Breeze expanded west across the U.S., including coast-to-coast flights, and now offers 85 nonstop routes between 31 cities in 19 states.
