Police are investigating a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash Wednesday night in Lindon that ended in one fatality.

A motorcycle driven by Dylan Smith, 18, collided with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of 700 North and State Street, leaving Smith dead at the scene, according to Lindon Police Chief Mike Brower.

The accident occurred at approximately 7:28 p.m. at one of the busiest intersections in the city. Brower said speed appears to have been a factor in the crash.

Orem’s Crash Team and officers from the Pleasant Grove Police Department helped at the crash site to direct traffic in the area.

The driver of the vehicle, who was the only one in the car, did not have injuries.

Brower is cautioning motorists to slow down to stop at a yellow light rather than try to speed through. “Please pay attention to the speeding laws,” he said.

The crash team was still involved with investigating the accident Thursday morning and will release more information when the investigation is completed.
