Provo’s Neighborhood Arts Center will be hosting its annual fundraiser on Friday to raise money for the center and the arts education and activities it provides.

“Our mission is to make art accessible to the community,” said Tallia Feltis, the executive director of the arts center.

The fundraiser is an annual event the center puts on, Feltis said, and it’s their biggest of the year. Money raised on Friday will go toward purchasing supplies and operation costs. Feltis added they do an annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration in January, and the funds raised Friday will help put on that community event.

This year’s event will be a holiday carnival with various art activities and games for families. There will also be a small art market and hot chocolate, Feltis said.

Admission to the event is free, but punch cards to participate in activities will be available for purchase.

The center, which first opened in 2017, is located in the Provo Towne Centre mall and offers art classes, community events and camps during the summer. This month on the center’s calendar is open art studio times, classes geared toward children ages 2 to 6 years old and drawing clubs, according to their website.

While the center is geared toward serving children and families, people of all ages are welcome, Feltis said, and they often host adult art classes in the evening.

Feltis stressed the affordability of the center due to it being heavily subsidized. Costs for classes and activities are as low as $3-$5.

The center takes monetary donations all year round on its website and there are also volunteer opportunities for those wanting to donate their time. Additionally, Feltis said people can donate unused art supplies to the arts center.

The fundraiser starts at 6 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m. Friday and will be held at the Provo Towne Centre.
