Belle and Mark want to give their 3-year-old twin boys “the best Christmas” this year, they said, but they cannot financially afford to give them one.
The couple had to move into a new home in August due to safety concerns from mold, spiders and mice infestations in their previous residence. The move raised their rent by $500 a month, creating the need for both parents to work.
They were not prepared for the financial increase, so it is greatly impacting their family. “We are now catching up on bills that are past due, and we will not have any extra spending money until we are fully caught up,” the parents said.
Receiving help from the Sub for Santa program would greatly impact their family and provide their twins with a Christmas to remember. “This year they are really starting to learn the magic of Christmas,” they said.
The twins are 3 1/2 years old and are in need of snow gloves, pants, long black socks, beanies, shoes and boots. One of the children likes the color blue and is hoping for dress-up clothes and Lincoln Logs this Christmas. He also enjoys reading the books “Rainbow Fish” and “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.”
The other twin likes green and is hoping for tinker toys, a Play-Doh kit and bath towels this Christmas. He enjoys reading the book “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.”
