Utah Rep. Cory Maloy, R-Lehi, announced his candidacy for reelection in House District 52 on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023.

Rep. Cory Maloy announced his candidacy for reelection Wednesday. Maloy’s House District 52 mainly covers Lehi, where the Republican resides with his wife, plus parts of American Fork and Saratoga Springs.

“With a proven track record of serving his constituents and a passion for positively impacting his community, Maloy is ready to continue his work in the state legislature,” a press release announcing his candidacy said.

According to his announcement, Maloy’s campaign is focused on highlighting the work he has done and will continue to do if reelected, such as improving transportation for northwest Utah County, protecting constitutional rights, fostering economic growth by creating a business-friendly environment, providing health care access, supporting local control of Utah’s school curriculum and defending the Second Amendment.

In the press release, Maloy stated, “I am committed to being a voice for the community and working towards policies that will improve the lives of Utahns. I am grateful for the support I have received, and I look forward to the campaign ahead.”

In the heart of Silicon Slopes in Lehi is Maloy PR, a public relations firm that Maloy founded and is the principal owner of. Maloy states on his campaign website that owning a firm in the community he serves gives him a “unique perspective on our community’s needs.”

Maloy currently serves as chair of the House Business and Labor Standing Committee in the Utah Legislature as well as the Regulatory Sandbox Advisory Committee for the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity. The latter committee “aims to remove harmful regulations that are detrimental to Utah’s businesses,” the press release explains. In addition, Maloy is a member on the House Government Operations and Infrastructure and General Government Appropriations committees.

Maloy stated in the press release, “I am honored to have the opportunity to continue serving the people of District 52.”
