MountainStar Healthcare’s Timpanogos Regional Hospital is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a new chief executive officer at the helm.

Austin L. Manning will fill the chief’s slot, left open when Kimball S. Anderson retired at the end of 2022 after seven years leading the 122-bed Orem hospital.

Manning is returning to Timpanogos Regional after serving as its chief operating officer from 2014-2017. He brings over 15 years of hospital leadership experience to the new role, including more than five years as the COO at HCA Healthcare’s Los Robles Health System in California.

“I am thrilled to be back at Timpanogos Regional Hospital,” Manning said. “My family and I loved our time in Utah County and are excited to call the area home again. I look forward to carrying forward the mission of HCA Healthcare: above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.”

Manning was instrumental in the establishment of the Cardiovascular Institute at Los Robles to provide a full suite of structural heart services in the Conejo Valley, according to MountStar Healthcare.

He also launched the total joint and spine robotic surgery service line programs in the system, which resulted in significant growth to orthopedic services. In addition, he directed the expansion of the Los Robles Rehabilitation Hospital to 40 beds.

Manning oversaw all facility construction, which includes more than $100 million in capital currently under deployment across three campuses along with operating room and emergency room expansions.

Timpanogos Regional Hospital is one of eight MountainStar Healthcare hospitals from Logan to Payson. It remains a hub for MountainStar Children’s Services with a pediatric intensive care program and several other pediatric specialties. Its labor and delivery unit welcomes more than 1,600 babies per year.

Timpanogos Hospital recently expanded with the opening of the Westlake Emergency Center, offering hospital-level emergency care to fast-growing communities in western Utah County, and Manning says he anticipates more initiatives to expand services and enhance care.

“I look forward to building on the 25-year legacy of evolving to meet our community’s needs,” Manning said. “We’ll continue to bring high-quality healthcare services to families in our service area.”

Prior to his initial stint at Timpanogos Regional, Manning served in a number of administrative roles at HCA Healthcare facilities in Oklahoma and Colorado.

“We are very happy to have Austin back with us in Utah and leading the extraordinary team at Timpanogos Regional Hospital,” said Greg Angle, president of MountainStar Healthcare. “He has established himself as a tremendous leader throughout his HCA Healthcare career and I’m certain he will develop Timpanogos Regional with incredible energy and foresight. I look forward to the great things that he will do for the people of Utah County.”
