Utah County public entities schedule truth-in-taxation hearings

With cities and other public bodies preparing their budgets for the upcoming fiscal year, 12 truth-in-taxation hearings are planned across Utah County. The hearing will be held by nine city/town councils, two water districts and one school district.

Truth-in-taxation hearings are public meetings designed to gather input from residents before a property tax increase can be leveed.

Alpine School District: The hearing will be held at the district office, 575 N. 100 East in American Fork, on Aug. 8. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $493,000, raising the tax responsibility from $1,029.83 to $1,219.63 for residential property.

Bluffdale: The hearing will be held at the city hall, 2222 W. 14400 South, on Aug. 3. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $694,000, raising the tax responsibility from $372.54 to $471.78 for residential property.

Genola City: The hearing will be held at the Genola Fire Department building, 455 N. Main St., on Aug. 16. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $414,000, raising the tax responsibility from $213.13 to $237.95 for residential property.

Goshen City: The hearing will be held at the city office, 10 W. Main St., on Aug. 8. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $361,000, raising the tax responsibility from $69.49 to $207.48 for residential property.

Payson City: The hearing will be held at the city courthouse, 439 W. Utah Ave., on Aug. 2. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $415,000, raising the tax responsibility from $262.26 to $272.30 for residential property.

Pleasant Grove City: The hearing will be held at the city justice court building, 108 S. 100 East, on Aug. 1. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $542,000, raising the tax responsibility from $310.32 to $366.96 for residential property.

Provo City: The hearing will be held at the city hall building, 445 W. Center St., on Aug. 8. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $467,000, raising the tax responsibility from $245.29 to $255.05 for residential property.

Santaquin City: The hearing will be held at the city office, 275 W. Main St., on Aug. 1. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $434,000, raising the tax responsibility from $222.95 to $335.13 for residential property.

Springville City: The hearing will be held at the civic center building, 110 S. Main St., on Aug. 15. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $454,000, raising the tax responsibility from $136.28 to $195.27 for residential property.

Woodland Hills City: The hearing will be held at the city office, 690 S. Woodland Hills Drive, on Aug. 8. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $910,000, raising the tax responsibility from $1,617.62 to $1,717.22 for residential property.

Jordan Valley Water Conservation District: The hearing will be held at the district office, 8215 S. 1300 West in West Jordan, on Aug. 9. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $558,000, raising the tax responsibility from $95.75 to $104.65 for residential property.

Central Utah Water Conservancy District: The hearing will be held at the district office, 1426 E. 750 North in Orem, on Aug. 21. The proposed increase is measured off properties with an average value of $528,000, raising the tax responsibility from $112.38 to $116.16 for residential property.
