Spanish Fork's police department is pictured Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in Spanish Fork.Spanish Fork police on Wednesday identified Timothy Parker, 58, and his wife, Jeannie Parker, 50, as victims in Tuesday’s double homicide investigation. Police announced that both Parkers sustained gunshot wounds in their home near 1400 S. 2250 East.
Police immediately named Tryston Robert Erickson, 26, as a person of interest in the killings. Erickson was subsequently located in Colorado. According to a press release, Spanish Fork officers “pinged” Jeannie Parker’s phone, which showed it was with the vehicle near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The Grand County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and, after a traffic stop and pursuit, took Erickson into custody.
Erickson is the son of Jeannie Parker and stepson of Timothy Parker. The pair married in 2001, according to marriage records.
“It was pretty clear from the information we’ve been able to gather that the person of interest was someone we wanted to talk to,” SFPD Lt. Cory Slaymaker told the Daily Herald on Tuesday.
The Parkers were found by Spanish Fork police after a welfare check was initiated.
