Provo’s Splash Summit Waterpark prepping to open Saturday
While the calendar appeared to have paused on winter, the past few weeks have shown the sun eventually does come out. Current warm temperatures are shouting the end of spring and the beginning of summer, and beckoning for summer activities to return.
With that, pools and water features are getting ready to open and no one is more excited than the crew at the Splash Summit Waterpark at the end of East Center Street in Provo.
Officials announced Friday that Splash Summit Waterpark will open for business from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning on Saturday.
“It’s been a long winter and we’re excited to announce our 2023 opening dates. We’re in our fourth season and we continue to transform the park by elevating the experience of our guests,” said Jodi Johnson, general manager of Splash Summit Waterpark. “We look forward to welcoming our guests and their families back to Splash Summit. Our team has been working hard to prepare the park for an on-time opening.”
Splash Summit Waterpark features a 500,000-gallon wave pool, a lazy Rainforest River, several body slides, an eight-lane mat racer, tube slides and more. In recent years, the park has focused on enhancements, including upgrades to seating and cabanas, new technology that allows guests to order concessions ahead of time from their phones, and an improved outside picnic area allowing for guests to bring a cooler and enjoy food from home, according to Nick Strong, vice president of marketing.
Several new themed event days are also planned for this season including Utah Foster Care Day, Armed Forces Day, Kindness Day and more.
“We continue to improve our guest experience based off of feedback received from our pass holders,” said Spencer Shumway, owner. “This year, you’ll notice new special events, additional cabanas, new seating options and more. In the upcoming years, we hope to expand the park’s footprint, and while expansion takes time, we’re excited for what the future holds.”
Season passes, which provide unlimited visits during the 2023 season through Labor Day, are currently on sale for a limited time.
Splash Summit Waterpark is Utah’s largest waterpark and recommends children 12 and under to be accompanied by an adult (16 years of age or older) at all times.
