2 injured after truck crashes into Pleasant Grove apartment building

A truck collided into an apartment building in Pleasant Grove on Monday morning, injuring the driver of the vehicle and an individual who was in an apartment on the first floor of the building at the time of the crash.
According to Pleasant Grove Fire Battalion Chief Jake Larsen, the person in the apartment was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital and is in critical condition. The driver was also transported to a hospital and is in fair condition, Larsen said. He did not specify the extent of either person’s injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation, and while the cause of the crash is still unknown, Larsen said they suspect a medical episode may have led to the crash.
The crash occurred at 1116 W. 100 South in Pleasant Grove, and Larsen said two parked vehicles were also hit before the truck collided into the building.
Three living units have been “red tagged,” Larsen said, with the damage leaving them unlivable until “extensive” work is done to repair the apartments. Residents in the rest of the building have been able to return to their homes.
