The Utah County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man and woman killed after a car drove off a mountainside in Provo Canyon.

On Saturday around 10:30 p.m., a car drove off Kyhv Peak Road in Provo Canyon and tumbled 200 yards down the mountain, landing on its roof, leaving two people dead, the sheriff’s office said.

On Thursday afternoon, authorities said Scarleth Fuerzalda Navarro, 24, was thrown from the car just below where it left the road. The 23-year-old driver, Justin Carnales Navarro, also died in the car crash, a social media post stated.

Two other passengers “with with less serious injuries” survived the crash, one of whom reportedly told authorities that speed was a factor.

No other information was given.
